I have been living with eczema 8 years of my life. When I was a baby and 7 years during my teenage years.
I get it mainly because of stress. So I need to de-stress periodically especially during exams in university, big events at work, and life changes like moving, new job, etc.
Things I did.. (No prescribed steroid creams!)
Praying and reading the Bible helped me a whole lot during university especially. Being at peace with life and not worrying over failures. This really helped with my psychological well-being as much as it is spiritual! Anxiety has been a big hurdle that I have been facing as a teen and well into adulthood. Thank God for this big change in my life, I am such a better person for it.
EXERCISE almost everyday. Even strolling counts. I went to the gym as well to lift weights. And gradually did Hitt exercises. One or two days of rest each week. Being active and physically healthy plays a big part in eczema, my body metabolizes food better, and I get better sleep to rejuvenate. Soon, I will be getting back into a regular routine that I can share with everyone!
Start a skin regimen and only using warm water for showers. I will have blogs and maybe even blogs up for this. Or check my Instagram for my recent products in my routine. I have tried so many products, I don’t know where to begin. But so glad that there are so much more natural options out there now then before! Hoping to create my own skin care line in my future!
Diet. I cut out junk food, fast food, red meats, cows milk, and salmon. So I did fasting for 24 hours once a month, only eat within 16 - 10 - 8 hours daily, and vegetarian diet week twice a year. Explore and find the best balanced for yourself. Everyone needs different things, there is no one diet that is good for everyone in the world! I find the best thing for me is a fist size of meat per day, four times a week is best. Loads of veggies and grains. Some fruits. Voila! Simple and easy.
I believe that this holistic approach really helped me overcome eczema. I couldn't just do one and not the other. I had to do all four to really achieve this!
Thank you for reading my experience. This is not a doctor's order, but a self driven choice made everyday.
